Writing, besides very good skills to make it appealing, needs a key ingredient named consistency. AC writers have it and in large amounts, too.
Writing, besides very good skills to make it appealing, needs a key ingredient named consistency. AC writers have it and in large amounts, too. They are organized and aware that every article they write needs commitment to be delivered in time to their audiences.
I have learned over a period of a couple of months that if I go to my FaceBook page, I will surely see in the feeds their newest articles. So not only do they write in a manner that is very appealing to me, but they deliver it to my “doorstep” so I don’t even bother to login to my email account to get Newsletters or RSS feeds. For some unexplained reason its way more entertaining and easy for me to check out the FB feeds to see their articles. Maybe it’s the way they present it, maybe it’s because I can always ask them question and get almost instant responses, maybe it’s because (and this is probably the main reason) I like to be comfortable, to use a euphemism. But the truth is, that compared to them, when it comes to writing, I’m lazy, pure and simple!
So, in the last couple of days I become more and more inspired by them to retake the writing and self-publishing journey. The final decision came to me after Oscar asked me to become guest on her MySpace page. She also said to me that I should have more faith in my writing. I don’t! I know Oscar is not an AC writer, but she was the element that set everything in motion.
But knowing myself and knowing that hope or other spiritual motivations, won’t be enough to keep me committed, I had to go for way more drastic measures. I want to become at least half as organized and to write at least half as appealing as AC writers from my FB friend list. I am aware I have a long way to get there, though.
So, in order for me to achieve that I went and bought an account on this Pipeno platform. The reasons for me doing that are multiple and various: they fixed the hosting on a very buggy previous site, they have a great, appealing layout and an integrated forum and marketplace, they pointed my domain to one of their sites with just one mail to support (and no additional fee from my end) and they offered me a discount of half price because I’m among their first costumers. The last one, I must admit it’s on purpose. I searched for a start-up, precisely to have a cheap service. I however wanted a paid one, because the paid ones always offer support. And it turned out I always need support for my blog. But here’s the main motivation for me to do that: I needed to pay for a service to be aware that I gave some money on a monthly basis (I paid a total of 145 $ in advance for the whole year because I got two months free). So, considering that I spend 12 $ per month I should at least be committed to write on regular basis. Kind of like having a gym subscription. If I bought it, I should go there at least 3 times a week, so I don’t make a total waste of my money! And anyway these Pipeno guys say that I can make money form my website, so I’m set to get my small investment back through the very site I’ve bought.
But this is something only a guy like me would do. You (AC writers) don’t need to do that. Not only you provide regular articles for AC, but you write books, participate in others content, keep personal blogs updated...and the list can go on and on…
So, considering that I will still be reading your articles on FB for many months to come, thank you for making it so easy for a lazy guy like me.
Here are a couple of articles that really stayed with me long after I’ve read them.
Thank you, Tammy for the best musical recommendations I’ve got in a very long time:

Kudos to Larry who logically proved to me that a victim overwhelmed by zombies can mean individuals overwhelmed by problems and kept me reading and article about zombie movies that I cared nothing about until that point.
Thank you, Michelle for being such an inspiration for so many writers out there

Thank you so much, Lyn for actually explaining to me how I should do it (sure always easier said than done for me!). But you are actually doing it!

Good one, Ann! She made me read an article about women accessories (a very special one I must admit) because I liked the way she debated the issue.
Many thanks to Theresa who generously enlightened me in a very obscure matter, from a woman’s point of view. I was very happy to find some circumstances when it is ok to flirt even if I’m in a relationship.

Thank you in advance, Sevastian, for the article that your are about to write “How to Write Amazing Characters Every Time You Write ". Looking forward to read that one.
And thank you, Oscar for making me aware that I need to be more serious about my writing commitment.
There are many, many more that aren’t listed here because they haven’t been written yet. But they should be.
